Alberta (McElroy) Jones

A Time To Be Born: Alberta McElroy Jones was born to the late Walter and Nadie B McElroy, where she began her life’s journey.  She was the fifth child of eight kids.

A Time To Grow: She spent a lot of her life taking care of her family and helping raise Mimi Herrick, Lynn Poss, the late Patsy Harrison and the late Russell Poss.

A Time To Love: She met Clifford Jones at an early age and they were united into marriage in Georgetown, GA.  One child was born to this union -Walter Jones.

A Time To Render: Alberta Jones, affectionately known as Berta to all that knew her, was saved and baptized at an early age.  She worked and served in every capacity of Tabernacle Baptist Church: Missionary Society, Tabernacle Choir, Ladies Aid, and Eastern Star.  She was a woman of faith and everyone that knew her was touched by her strength and inspired by her love for the Lord.  She loved to be around her family and taking care of her grandkids.

A Time To Weep, A Time To Morn, A Time Of Pain, and A Time To Die: Our precious woman of God, departed this life and began a journey in everlasting life, on Sunday, May 12, 2019.  She was preceded in death by her husband, son, mother, father, three brothers, and three sisters.

A Time To Embrace and Remember: She leaves to cherish her memories;  three loving sisters: Mary Davis, Everlena (Edward) Larkin, and Mary Jene (Moses) Peterson; nine grandkids: Jimmy Hawkins, Curtis Hawkins, Valarie McClinton, Victor McClinton, all of Eufaula, AL, Clifford (Monica) Jones, Jonathan Cole both of Dothan, AL, Walter (Alicia) Jones of Thibodaux, LA, Nakia McClinton of Fort Lee, VA, and Jerrold McClinton of Waco, TX; three children: Gloria Bidding of Dothan, AL, Barbara Dinkins of Eufaula, AL, and Sherry Sherman of Chicago, IL; thirteen great grandkids; a very special niece: Marilyn Gordon; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
