Mr. Billy Ray (Pete) Hobdy was born in Louisville, Alabama to L. C. and Maudie Bee Hobdy. He attended Louisville High School where he was a popular student on campus. At an early age, he joined Salem Baptist Church. He had a strong work ethic and many talents. Over the years, he worked as a brick mason, carpenter and a master landscaper.
Pete was a loving man who never met a stranger. He had a smile for everyone. He had a way of bringing out the best in people. He enjoyed watching Western Movies and most of all he loved entertaining his family and friends.
He was married to the late Mary Jean Hobdy.
Billy Ray leaves to cherish his loving memories; six sons: Bernard March, Sherman Hobdy, Aellis Howard (Rebecca), Mark Carey, Billy Hobdy and Keith Gamble; a host of grandchildren; his loving parents: L. C. Hobdy and Maudie Bee Hobdy; three brothers: Lonnie Hobdy, David Hobdy (Sharon) and Larry Jackson; one sister: Susan Hobdy; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, loved ones and friends.
