Mary Ruth McCray

Mary Ruth McCray was born in 1948 to the late Leroy and Cora Lee Burks McCray, in Louisville, AL. At an early age of four, she lost her mother.  Her father remarried Mary McCray and she lovingly raised here as her own.

At an early age, Mary Ruth joined St Peter Missionary Baptist Church.  She later joined Faith Temple.

She loved her family and loved cooking.  She was really in her element, when she worked at the Depot in Louisville cooking, serving, and hugging the customers for many years.

She peacefully made her transition from this life at home with loved ones by her side on October 24, 2019.

She was preceded in death by two siblings: Thomas McCray and Mary Moreland.

She leaves memories and love to: three children: Henry Lewis McCray of Louisville, AL, Jerome David (Raydine) McCray of Clayton, AL, and Johnny Lee McCray of Louisville, AL; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; eight siblings: Mattie Bell McCray of Goshen, AL, Willie Roy (Doris) McCray of Louisville, AL, Racheal (Don) Anglin of Clayton, AL, Bobbie Jean McCray of Louisville, AL, Mary Jane (Ernest) Daffin of Louisville, AL, Robert (JoAnn) McCray of Louisville, AL, Lorrianne (Dennis) Faulk of Clio, AL, and Leroy McCray, Jr. of Louisville, AL;  a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
