Richard Wright

Richard “Kidd” Wright, 77, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019, at Nolan Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Richard was the son of the late Leola Wright. After the passing of Richard’s mother, he was cared for by his grandmother, the late Pauline Wright.

Richard accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He later joined Zion Baptist Church. He attended Eufaula Baptist Academy and later transferred to Van Buren TV McCoo where he graduated with the class of 1962. 

Richard was employed by Brookwood Medical Center, Dixie Shoe Factory and Eufaula Adolescent Center where he worked for over 20 years until his retirement. In 2008, his health started to decline, and he was placed in Crowne Health Care of Eufaula. He enjoyed his time there with his friends William Benson, Isaiah Owens and roommate Bobby Norton, having birthday parties, singing in the choir, and just being himself.

He leaves to cherish his memories; one brother: George (LaTricia) Wright, of Philadelphia, PA; Two nephews: Muhammed Wright of Philadelphia, PA & Lacoya (Latoya) Wright, of Riverdale, GA; One niece: Ebony (Eli) Henderson of Loganville, GA; Special Cousins: Mary Alice Wright & Henry Lee (Rose Marie) Wright of Eufaula, AL, Margaret (Tony) Glover of Ellenwood, GA, Glenn Thomas of Stockbridge, GA, & Hurley Lee Austin of Columbus, GA; Special nieces: Debra (Rook) Merrill of Ellenwood, GA, Sharon Wright, Kimberly (John) Lawson, Leslie Wright of Eufaula, AL, Moneake (Quantez) Dunn of Ellenwood, GA, Sheneake (William) Geter of Lithonia, GA, & Katrina Wright of Eufaula, AL, Special nephew; Kenyatta Wright of Eufaula, AL; a host of great nieces, great nephews & other relatives and friends.
