Aaron Crossley, Sr. was born in Barbour County. He was the son of the late Abe Crossley, Sr. and Eva Chambers Crossley.
He confessed his life to Christ at an early age and joined Mount Zion AME Church in Louisville, AL, where he served as a dedicated Steward. He attended Barbour County Training School in Clayton, AL and later went on to attend college at Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL.
Aaron was a member of the St. Joseph Masonic Lodge # 444 and he also worked for Slawson Lumber Company for numerous years. Aaron was a faithful and dedicated staff member of Central Funeral Services in Louisville, AL until he was no longer able to do so.
He was preceded in death by: his lovely wife: Willie Mae Crossley; one son: Eric M. Jones; one stepson: Melvin Adams; one sister: Inna Murell Crossley; and three brothers: William Crossley, Aubrey Crossley, Sr., and Abe Crossley, Jr.
Aaron leaves to cherish his memories: six children: Aaron Crossley, Jr. of New Jersey, Michael Crossley, Sr. of New Jersey, Cathy (LaSalle) Durham of Eufaula, AL, April Crossley of Dothan, AL, Katrina Crossley of Dothan, AL, and Andrew Crossley of Dothan, AL; two stepsons: Morris (Denese) Adams of Dothan, AL, and Timmy E. Adams of Dothan, AL; one brother: Retired Elder Thomas E. (Helen) Crossley of Louisville, AL; one sister: Doris Herrin of Jamaica, New York; two sisters-in-law: Annie Crossley of Louisville, AL and Geraldine Rumph of Clayton, AL; one daughter-in-law: Pearline Jones; sixteen grandchildren: Arrion Jones, Jason Grubbs, Mario Grubbs, DeMario Holmes, Joevriel Smith, Michelle Mullins, Deaunte Holmes, Tayler Boykin, LeKeashea Adams, Darryle Davis, Terrance Davis, Melody Adams, Timmy Russaw, Anterrio Thomas, Elrico Thomas, and Kamekia Thomas; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
