Abdul J. Smith

Abdul was the son of the late Mr. Robert and Delaney (Moore) Hill & Jerome Smith.  He was a very loving son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend.

Abdul’s intimate relationship with God gave him great faith.  Through his life, he came to know a great peace from God.  He said often “Just let them have it!” and “It’s not worth my peace!”

He was most happy experiencing the simple things in life.  He developed a great love for creating beautiful works from “Junk” (reclaimed wood).  His craftsmanship lead him to be known all over the country.  His gift gave him purpose.  Although we may find his passing to be unexpected, God knew!

Abdul leaves behind so many memories for his loved ones to cherish; his estranged wife: Fakeisha Smith of Kinsey, AL; six siblings: Loretta Moore of Abbeville, Alabama, Omar (WyKeshia) Smith of Abbeville, Alabama, Salim Smith of Abbeville, Alabama, Fard Smith of Atmore, Alabama, Shabbee Thomas of Taylor, Alabama, Alinecia Smith of Webb, Alabama; an honorary sister of love: Melissa Smith of Eufaula, Alabama; two honorary brothers of love: Alex Coxson and Darrell Gordon; a dear friend: Tawanda Baker; a multitude of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

May God fill the void of Abdul’s absence with a peace that surpasses all understanding.
