Cleveland Young Obituary

Cleveland Young was born, in Clayton, Alabama, to the late Clezelle Gilbert Young and David Underwood.

Cleveland confessed his faith in Christ, at an early age. Later he joined Mount Zion AME Church, in Louisville, Alabama.  He attended school at Barbour County Training School in Clayton, Alabama. Cleveland Young married the love of his life on April 2, 1973.  His hobbies were playing cards, dominoes, telling stories about his past, and being with family & friends.

He was preceded in death by; his parents: Clezelle Gilbert Young and David Underwood; one son: McArthur Kyles; one sister: Virgia Ford Ross; two brothers: George (Mary) Massey and Booker T. Underwood.

On Thursday, July 28, 2022, he gained his wings while at home with his family.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his loving wife of forty nine years: Betty Jean Young; six loving daughters: Jacqueline Mctier of Bradenton, Florida, Sylvia Streeter of Midway, Alabama, Shelia Young, Chanda Young, Santinia Young, and Santania Young all of Louisville, Alabama; five sons: Tony (Leatisha) Young of Clayton, Alabama, Curtis (Carita) Steele of Phenix City, Alabama, Christopher Guilford of Clio, Alabama, Tyrone Kennedy of Louisville, Alabama, and Tracy (Mary) Kennedy of Clayton, Alabama; thirty one grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren; two sisters: Essie May White of Clayton, Alabama and Parline (James) Herring of Clayton, Alabama; Grover (Hazel) Young of Eufaula, Alabama; one special friend: Milton Ford; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
