Donald Alfred Redding

Mr. Donald Alfred Redding was born in Clio, Alabama, to Millard Redding and the late Mable Walton Redding. 

He grew up in Newark, New Jersey and graduated, top of his class, from Malcolm X Shabazz High School, in 1977.  Donald later attended Rutgers University and graduated in 1983 with a degree in Business.  In 1986, he moved back to Alabama and began working with the Child Support Enforcement in the Dale County Department of Human Resources.  In 1995, He began working as a Social Worker in the Food Stamp Division in Clayton, Alabama, with the State Department of Human Resources (DHR), where he retired in May 2010.  Donald was a vivid Chevy lover and collector of Chevy memorabilia.

Donald served as a faithful Deacon at Blue Springs Baptist Church, as a Worship Master of St John Lodge #444, and as a member of the Ladies Aid society #72.

He leave to cherish his memories: his father: Millard (Diane “Momma D”) Redding of Hillside, N J; one sister: Michelle Redding (Clarence) Williams of San Francisco, CA; one nephew: Clarence Williams, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; two aunts: Ruth Redding of Newark, NJ and Lula Smith of Piscataway, NJ; one uncle: Willie (Linda) Walton of Eufaula, AL; special cousins: Thomas and Della Glanton of Clio, AL; two God Children: Stephany (James) Marshall of Ozark, AL and Thomas (Camille) Glanton of Ozark, AL; one God Sister: Jasmine Jackson of Kinsey, AL;  a special friend: Rosa Andrews of Dothan, AL; an adopted mother: Ollie Williams of Clio, AL; a host of cousins, family, and  friends.
