Dorothy Ann Gilbert

Dorothy Gilbert was born on November 11, 1961 to Mr. Author and Daisy Gilbert in Barbour County Alabama at Eufaula Hospital. She was a faithful member of Greater Hope Church (Pastor Daisy Gilbert) Eufaula, AL. She transitioned on Saturday July 17,2021 at Medical Center Barbour. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father Mr. Author Gilbert and brother Cedrick Gilbert. She was an employee of Tyson Foods in Bakerhill, AL for over a decade.

Dot loved her family so much! She enjoyed going shopping and some fine dining. She would often spend her weekends shopping with her sister Joyce and going out to eat. Dot was always the life of the party, anyone who spent time with her found her to be just a fun-loving person to be around.  She was very loyal to her true friends and family.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: five sons- Tyrone Gilbert, Lamont Gilbert, Derrick Gilbert, Kendall Gilbert, and Jaquez Stanford; her mother- Pastor Daisy Gilbert; twobrothers- Bennie Gilbert and Emanger Landale Gilbert; seven sisters- Joyce Gilbert, Arleen Kennedy, Mary Gilbert, Carolyn Gilbert (Robert), Caroline (Gregg) McCray, Sharon (Earnest) Adams, Latasha Gilbert; three extended siblings: Greg Bishop, Robert DeAndre Lampley, and Monica Lampley; seven grandchildren- Briauna Gilbert, Audrey Gilbert, Tyrone Gilbert, Jr., Lakenya Gilbert, Kentrell Gilbert, Paris Gilbert, and Shania Gilbert; three great-grandchildren; four aunts- Katherine Herron (Hempstead, NY), Mary Gladys McLendon (Baldwin, NY), Jane Exum (Ozark, AL) and Bobbie Ree Walker (Louisville, AL); three uncles- Roy McLendon (Lela) Freeport, NY; Nathan (Ruby) Gilbert Midway, AL and Bishop Mitchell Gilbert (Susie) Adairsville, GA. Nieces and nephews;(Alvin Thomas, Angelo Gilbert, Kenta Kennedy, Kenyata Gilbert, Kenvisa Baxter, Tiffany Baxter, Keisha Baxter, Craig Gilbert, Gregory McCray, Antwan McCray, Aaliyah McCray, Travis McCray, Dexter Gilbert, Xavier Adams, Corey Gilbert, Quay Gilbert, Kia Gilbert, Mya Gilbert, Cedric “Brownie” Gilbert, Demetria Gilbert a very special niece- Latisha Gilbert and great-niece Bella Ka’oir Lewis; and a very special friend- Mr. Bobby Stanford, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, and loving friends and co-workers.
