Emma Jean (Woods) Christian

Emma Jean Christian, beloved daughter of the late Ola Mae Woods and the late William Woods, Sr.  She departed this life on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Medical Center Barbour.

Mrs. Christian accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Mt Zion AME Church.  Emma attended Van Buren School in Eufaula, AL, where she was educated from Elementary through Graduation.

Sometime after graduation, she moved to Newark, NJ and joined New Hope Baptist Church and remained a faithful member.  Emma met and married Matthew Christian and to this union two children were born.  She was employed for several years at Revlon Cosmetics.  She soon moved back to Eufaula, AL and reunited with New Mt Zion AME Church, where she was a faithful member.  After moving back, she began working in the cafeteria for the Eufaula School System, until she retired. 

Emma was preceded in death by; her husband: Matthew Christian; mother and father: Ola Woods and Williams Woods, Sr.; three sisters: Dora E. Williams, Robbie Mae Brown, and Rena Waters.

Sister Emma Jean Christian leaves to cherish her loving memories; two sons: Kenneth Christian (Michelle Walters) of Newark, NJ and Craig Christian (Sharlia Robinson) of Lexington, KY; one sister: Clara Clark Jenkins; two brothers: William (Cynthia) Woods, Jr. of Newark, NJ and Edward Woods of Eufaula, AL; four grandchildren: Kenny Lucas, Keith Lucas, Craig Christian, and Kendal McDowell; several great grandchildren; a very special cousin: Mrs. Carrie (Samuel) Collins of Pembroke Pines, FL; two very special nephews: Ivan (Michele)Waters of Union, NJ and Michael (Aniya) Finney of Yorktown, Virginia; her best friend, neighbor, and  cousin: Mrs. Ivory Baker; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a special roommate at Crowne Health Care: Mrs. Johnnie Williams.
