James Brascom Obituary

James Lee Brascom was born to the late Otis and Sarah Brascom in Louisville, AL. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, AL. He attended Job Corp in 1965, where he graduated with skills to operate heavy machinery.
On July 17, 1970, he was married in Holy Matrimony to Annie L Boykin and to that union they had seven kids.
James was preceded in death by his wife: Annie L Boykin Brascom; his parents: Otis and Sarah Brascom; parents-in-law: Joseph and Callie Boykin; one sister: Angelia “Angie” Blakely; and three brothers: James Otis, Thomas Dean, and Larry Brascom.
He departed his life on the morning of May 8, 2020, in Covington, GA. He leaves to cherish his memories to his seven children: James, Brascom, Jr., Eric (Samari) Brascom, and Derek Brascom all of San Antonio, TX, Anthony (Carla) Brascom of Valdosta, GA, FelShelia McFadden (Fiancé Anthony Shipman) of Carrolton, GA, Cedric Brascom (Fiancé Alexis Stevens of Covington, GA, and Callie Benton of Covington, GA; five sisters: Betty DeRamus of Conyers, GA, Ophelia (Marvin) Reed of Tampa, FL, Joyce (Clifton) Dilvorth of Seffner, FL, Deborah (Fred) Thorton of Ozark, AL, and Helen Butler of Albany, NY; four brothers: Johnny Brascom of Daleville, AL, Clifford (Diane) Brascom of Enterprise, AL, Odell (Willeve) Brascom of Newark, NJ, and Steve Brascom of Phenix, AZ; one uncle: Don Bishop of Eufaula, AL one great uncle: Charles (Lillie) Parker of Auburndale, FL and sister-in-law: Nettie Baxter of Louisville, AL; brothers-in-law: Raymond (Patricia) Boykin of Ozark, AL, Aubrey and Joe (Betty) Boykin both of Louisville, AL, Willie James Boykins of Midway, AL, Charles (Gwen) Boykin of Atlanta, GA; eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
