James T. Underwood

James was born to the blessed union of the late Mr. Jacob Underwood and the late Mrs. Florence Underwood of Louisville, Alabama. 

At an early age he accepted Christ where he joined Spring Hill Baptist Church in Clayton, Alabama.  He remained a faithful member on the Deacon Board, until his health declined.

James met and fell in love with the love of his life, Essie Lee Lane, and they were married.  To this union, they had five children.

James worked in the construction and house moving business until his health started declining.

He was preceded in death by; his Loving Wife: Essie Lee Underwood; one son: James Underwood, Jr.; his father and mother; three sisters: Mrs. Winnie Lee Burks, Mrs. Willie Kate Williams, Mrs. Nancy Woods; three brothers: Woodrow Underwood, Ernest Underwood, and Mr. Archie Underwood.

Mr. James T. Underwood departed this life at Medical Center Barbour in Eufaula, AL on April 29, 2022 at 8:48pm.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; four children: Linda Underwood of Louisville, AL, Lula (David) Boykin of Louisville, AL, Allison (Dale) Ebling of Lake Clark Shores, FL, and Allen Pete (Carol) Underwood of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister: Mrs. Annette Bryant of Detroit, MI; two aunts: Mrs. Rachel Beacham of Dothan, AL and Mrs. Lizzie Wheeler of Atlanta, GA; and a host of relatives and friends.
