Jimmy Harris

Jimmy “Big Cap” Harris was born in Pike County, Alabama to Dorothy Carlise Newson and Percy Harris.

At an early age, he joined Church of Christ Tennille Road. He attended Pea River School System and Pike County High School.

Jimmy was called home to rest on August 28, 2020 at South East Health in Dothan, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents: Dorothy Newson and Percy Harris; one brother: Charlie (Bo) Harris; grandmother: Madie Wilson; and aunt: Aline Harris.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; his wife: Barbara Harris; nine children: Latophia Crimes, Breanda McCray, Virginia McCray, Fredrick Key, Shelia Harris, Kelvin Adams, Melissa Adams, Christee Harris, and Christina Harris; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters: Willie Charles Harris, Larry (Alicia) Harris, Annie M. Newon, Dorothy Stewart, Ralph (Ellen) Newson, Beverly Sowah, Sylvia Newson, Diane Newson, and Terry (Valerie) Newson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
