Larry Thornton Obituary

Mr. Larry Donell Thornton was the second born of seven children.  He was born to the late H. D. Thornton, Sr. and Robbie Lee Baker Thornton in Louisville, Alabama.

Larry attended Louisville Elementary School and graduated from Louisville High School, Louisville, Alabama.  After high school, he served in the United States Army and received an honorable discharge.  He also attended the Aviation Academy, Ozark, Alabama. 

He joined Pea Creek Baptist Church at an early age. He enjoyed sports especially basketball and football, being that he played basketball during his high school years.  He loved cooking and spoiling his nieces and nephews, his love for his siblings was unmeasurable.

On the afternoon of February 13, 2020, Larry made his transition to his Heavenly home.  He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Mrs. Robbie Lee Baker Thornton (His Father H. D. Thornton, Sr. preceded him death)., his Three Sisters and Three Brothers born unto the Union of his parents, Patricia Thornton Bostic, Riverdale, GA., Nealie Thornton Boykins, Louisville, AL., Terry Jerome Thornton (Lula Merle), Louisville, AL., Alice Thornton Wilder (Donald), Montgomery, AL., Theresa Guilford Jones (Sterling) Fayetteville, GA., and Huey Daniel Thornton, Jr. (Parichart), Montgomery, AL. Other siblings: Ethel Mae Stuckey, Ozark, AL., Seretha Manuel (Willie) Midway, AL., Elaine Glover (Rev. Joe Glover) Clayton, AL., Derrick Jones, Thomaston, GA., Dana McCoy, Flora Sheppard and Mary Jean Griffin, Troy, AL.  A host of nieces, nephews and cousins which he adored. A very special Cousin Bobby Baker. Special friends for life; Lula Thornton, Aubrey Boykins, Nathan Walker and Lewis Alexander
