Born Lura Lee Foxx, daughter of Lawerence Lee Foxx and Annie Unice Foxx, was born in Montgomery, Alabama. She was one of ten children to this union. She departed this life on June 22, 2023.
Lura lived most of her life in Clio, Alabama where she attended the Barbour County School System, graduating with honors. Later in life, Laura joined the union with Timothy Coleman.
Lura was a hard working & devoted mother and supported her family. In her career, she held many jobs to include managing the Chevron Gas Station in Ashford, Alabama for ten years and later retired from the Dothan Housing Authority early due to health issues.
Lura accepted Christ at a very young age and was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained until she was called home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, two nieces, and one nephew.
Lura leaves to cherish in memories; four children: two daughters: Montunrayo Gibson & Shena Foxx and two sons: Sherwin Foxx & Mario Foxx; eight grandchildren: Keandre Marquan Gass, Kyrese Lanolen Gass, Shalyiah Foxx, Sherryah Foxx, Rihanna Danae Gibson, Ladurris Deon McGee, Israel Amour Foxx, Messiah De’Mario Foxx; three great grandchildren: Lahzell Jaking Gass, Kyrie Kahzell Gass, & Kaziya Olina Gass; three sisters: Joyce Jones, Sherry Kennedy & Shirley Ray; two brothers: Joel Smith & Lawrence Foxx; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
