Obituary

Mamie McLeod was born to Herbert and Cora Jackson in Clio, Alabama.

At an early age, Mamie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  She was faithful member of the First Hopewell Baptist church in Newark, New Jersey, until her health declined in 2019.

Mamie attended Clio High School in Alabama and later attended Essex County College in Newark, New Jersey.  She worked as a supervisor in the dietary department at the University of Medicine and Dentistry Hospital in Newark, New Jersey for 31 years until she retired in 2011.

Mamie was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Cora Jackson; brother: Willie “Toby” Austin; and sister: Mollie Shipman.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories; her loving sons: Vincent McLeod, Anthony McLeod, and Dennis McLeod; her loving grandsons: Malcolm McLeod and Chase McLeod; her sisters: Dorothy Lee and Katie Jackson Donnell; and a host of family, including nieces, nephews, and friends.
