Mary Stephens Obituary

Mary Catherine Stephens was born October 1, 1946, in Louisville, Alabama to the late Lee Ella and Charlie Kennedy.

Cat, as she was known by all, confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and joined Mount Zion AME Church in Louisville, Alabama, where she was a faithful member until her health failed.  She was a member of Gilford Chapter 0ES 228.  She retired from Van Heusen Shirt Factory in Clio, Alabama.  She worked for Central Funeral Services.

Mary gained her wings Saturday, September 18, 2021, after a lengthened illness.  She was preceded by her parents: Lee Ella and Charlie Kennedy, one son: Jermaine Stephens; four brothers: Charlie Kennedy, Jr., Henry James Kennedy, Wallace Kennedy, Sr., Earnest Lee Kennedy, Robert Kennedy; three sisters: Eulla Lee Helms, Louiza Cater, Annie Bertha Bethune.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories; two loving sons: Joe Lee Stephens (Quanishea) and Kenadro (Jerome) Stephens (Lovely) both from Montgomery, Alabama; one sister: Louise Kennedy Woods (Willie) of Louisville, Alabama; two brothers: Cleveland Kennedy (Maude) and Grover Kennedy both from Louisville, Alabama; a special niece: Jessica Woods of St Petersburg, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
