Melissa Anne (Baxter) Martin

“To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1  

A Time To Be Born:   Melissa “Lump” Martin-Baxter was born on July 7, 1966 to the late Charles Edward Baxter Sr. and Sarah Lee Thomas.

A Time To Plant:    Melissa was a faithful member of New Birth Center  until she became ill and reached her untimely death. Melissa was an excellent community service worker.

A Time To Love:   She had a passion for helping those with special needs. Her favorite saying, “Life it can be hard, but it’s fair and that’s on me baby.” In her free time, Melissa loved dancing and singing to her favorite music, blues. She also enjoyed painting and coloring.

A Time To Build Up:    She graduated from Clayton High School in 1984 and  continued her education in early childhood development where she received her associates degree in 1986. She then became employed with Mann Bait in 1993. She later became employed with Dr. Oneil Culver for many years until she later found a job with SpectraCare in Abbeville, AL.

A Time To Die:   Her final call of God came on February 27, 2022 at  2:26 p.m. at Troy Regional Medical Center.

A Time of Peace:   Melissa is proceeded in death by her father, Charles Edward Baxter Sr, and her mother, Sarah Lee Thomas, both of Eufaula, AL. The legacy of he season is left to her family; 3 loving daughters, Tekellia Dawson, Kendra (Markale) Brooks both of Troy, AL, and   Kwanza Bethune (Robert) of Eufaula, AL; 1 loving grandson/son, Rayji’ Davis of Eufaula, AL;  A Special Bonus Father, Elijah Thomas; 2 loving sisters, Felicia Smith of Troy, AL, Taffaney Thomas of Eufaula, AL; 4  loving brothers: Charles (Latrell) Baxter Jr. of Abbeville, AL,  Elijah (Angela) Thomas III of Eufaula, AL, Kenneth (Jacque) Lee Thomas,    Elijah (Angela) Dexter Thomas II, both of Orlando, FL; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends. Special thanks to her son-in-love, Markale Bush, special friends: Erica Bethune, Sheila King, Elizabeth Scott,  Vernett Weathington.
