Robert Kennedy

Robert Kennedy was born in Barbour County, to the late Lee Ella and Charlie Kennedy.

He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and joined Mount Zion AME Church in Louisville, Alabama.

Mr. Robert joined Lillian Doris Thomas in Holy Matrimony in June 1950 and to this union eight children were born.

He gained his wings Monday, June 8, 2020.

He was preceded in death by; his loving wife: Lillian Doris Kennedy; two sons: Johnnie Thomas and Robert Kennedy, Jr.; three sisters: Eulla Lee Helms, Louiza Carter, and Annie Bertha Bethune; four brothers: Charlie Kennedy, Henry James (HJ) Kennedy, Wallace Kennedy, and Ernest Lee Kennedy.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories; five devoted daughters: Shelly Baxter, Evelyn Lampley, Betty (Cleveland) Young, Linda Foster all of Louisville, Alabama and Brenda (Michael) Murphy of Ariton, Alabama; one devoted son Charles Kennedy of Louisville, Alabama; two grandsons he raised: Tyrone Kennedy of Louisville, Alabama and Tracey (Mary) Kennedy of Clayton, Alabama; two sisters: Louise (Willie) Woods  of Louisville, Alabama, and Mary Katherine Stevens of Ozark, Alabama; two brothers: Cleveland (Maude) Kennedy and Glover Kennedy of Louisville, Alabama; twenty three grandchildren; forty two great grandchildren; 30 great - great grandchildren; one daughter-in- law: Portia Thomas of Atlanta, Ga; two sisters-in-law: Beatrice Henry of Dothan, Alabama and May Gladys Kennedy of Ozark, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
