Obituary

Mr. Thomas Lee Faulk was born in Louisville, AL, to the late Shellie Faulk Wilson and Sylvester Goldsmith.  He gained his heavenly wings on August 23, 2022, doing what he loves to do “working”.

Thomas started working at a very early age to help support and take care of the family. Thomas was a jack of all trades. He got his early start farming and then in the trucking industry, where at the tender age of 17 he began driving for Dempsey Boyd. After a career spanning over 50 years with many companies, Thomas retired from his beloved Southeast Wood Treating/Georgia Pacific.  As a retiree, he established his own lawn care service, where he taught his granddaughters the value of a strong work ethic.  He later returned to the workforce as a foreman at Southeast Forestry where he remained until his death.

Thomas married the love of his life, Mary L. Sims, on January 13, 1969 and to this union two daughters were born. Thomas’ hobbies included watching Auburn Tiger football on Saturdays, Dallas Cowboys on Sundays in the fall, and Nascar Racing. He loved drag racing and was always rooting for those Fords. Nothing could get passed a Ford Mustang in his book. “Willie get it Racing” was his favorite. He did a lot of drag racing in his younger years and helped mold his granddaughter Kandace into racing.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers: Willie James Faulk and Joe Nathan Faulk; one daughter: Oddie B. Coleman; one son: Dwain Miles; a granddaughter: Kandace Faulk; and two brothers-in-law: Willie A. Sims and Robert E. Coleman.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife: Mary Faulk; his two daughters: Yvonne Faulk Blackmon and Christine Faulk; his son Henry Louis McCray; his grandchildren: Christopher, Ladarriel, Lashundra, Angela, Tametris, Chametris, Mehkia, and Dylyah; great-grandchildren: Oddieanna, Asia, KaRon, McKinley, Marcus, Katelynn, Natalie, Kehlani, Maxwell, and Myles; his seven siblings: Annie Floyd (Billy), Earl Faulk (Peggy), Dennis Faulk (Lorraine), Annette F. Glanton (Willie), Joseph Faulk (Mamie), Betty Faulk, and Billy Faulk; two sisters-in-law: Lillie Coleman and Geraldine Sims; special niece: Annie Floyd Smith; three adopted sons: Willie “Fred” Daffin, Cedric Johnson, and Mickey Hamm; his extended family: Guice Slawson Sr., Guice Slawson Jr., Stinson Slawson, Bill Slawson, Stinson Slawson Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
