Mrs. Willie M. Copeland was born to the late Elease & Willie D. McClain of Clio, AL. Mrs. Copeland confessed Christ at an early age, joining St. Peter A.M.E. Church, Clio, AL., later moving her membership to Sweet Hope A.M.E. Church, Elamville, AL., to be with her husband. Mrs. Copeland is a 1961 graduate of Clio Public High School, Clio, AL. In addition, she was a graduate of Wallace College, Dothan, AL., and became a licensed cosmetologist in the State of Alabama. Mrs. Copeland was also a member of The Order Of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by her parents, Elease & Willie D. McClain; mother and father in laws, Clarence & L.V. Copeland; a brother, Napolean McClain, her beloved husband, Mr. Ellis Copeland; a son, Allen Jerome Copeland; loving brother in laws, Henry Copeland and Willie James Copeland.
During the early morning hours of Sunday, May 03, Mrs. Willie M. Copeland slipped quietly into eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memories: five children, Anthony(JoAnne) Copeland, Enterprise, AL, Arleasia (Rev. James) Redding, Clio, AL, James Copeland, Canton, OH, Marcus Copeland, Clio, AL, Rev. Nathaniel (Neisha) Copeland, Columbus, GA; one brother in law, Tellis Copeland, Dothan, AL,; three sister in laws Arceola Copeland, San Antonio, TX, Florence Copeland, Elamville, AL., Earnestine Copeland, Dothan, AL.; three sisters, Ollie Roberson, Estella (Sam) , Gladys (Wesley) Engram, Clio, AL; one aunt, Emma Nell Baxter, Doster, AL, twelve grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and a special caregiver, Andrea Blackmon.
